"Oh Snap!" Look what I found...

First of all, I haven't said "Oh, Snap!" in like 8 years at least. Second of all, it was a phrase worthy of being dusted off.

Just look at all the goods I found at Daddy's over the New Years Weekend!  I promised you in this post that I would share. NC Stizzle fans get yo'selves jealous cause boy did Phillip (Daddy) hook a sister up! I was so excited, I had to send immediate 411 to my dearest friend over at Shug in Boots who also LoVeS the Stizzle.

These photos were taken from my new phone which was quite a struggle for me to figure out. Don't judge!

Now for the Goods:
Vintage Stizzle playing cards:
Check out these Stellar PACK Alums:
I am so loving the "ACC Champs" - fingers crossed for 2012!

He got game....

"Baller"

I'm loving the plaid sport coat - It is probably red and white ;) Sidney Lowe- eat your heart out shug.

NCSU yearbooks circa 1937, 1938, 1940, 1941 -
The "Agromeck" - See the Belltower??? - Completely Magical

NCSU Songbook complete with vintage RED records (the complete set of 4)- Anyone have a record player I can borrow?

And amongst all of that I found my grandmas "date permit" from her nursing school. Apparently you had to get a permit to go out on a date. I must enforce this when the time comes for GA.
She was due at 11:00pm. - Notice she didn't return????  Such a rebel. ....See???? I get it honest.......
There is much more to come but I gots to dive into to daddy's closet.
I'm hoping for vintage NCSU tee...oh yea!

And may I just say that in the spirit of THE PACK, that the News&Observer FINALLY got something right (and it was laying in our driveway for FREE...they are such a tease...Remember "DEAR TOBY"?????  here is a recap!
Ol' Roy looking some kind of rough? Agreed?

So long Tarholes! (for this weekend anyway) ....

Can somebody please pass the Holiday Cheer????

Can someone please pass the Holiday Cheer?  Don't lose that Christmas spark! Not yet anyways....Let me just serve you up a little Holiday Cheer via The Austin house! This is a collection of my favorite Christmas decor and Christmas traditions. I know it's a little late but hey, the Stizzle had a bowl game to win!
Anywho, I couldn't wait to share a bit of my Christmas!
These are a few of my favorite {Christmas} things:
(which have disappeared back into storage so I can reclaim my house and breath from the  claustrophobia):

 - I replace pictures throughout the house at Christmas. It's impossible to keep everything up all year long and I always get excited to see them when I pull them from storage.

I also LOVE old ornaments - most of these were mine or Sean's when we were little ....awwwwwww
My mama gave us an ornament every year so that when we left home we would have our own. Sean's granny also gave him one and wrote the year on the back! We also had an ornament that was just alike with our names - Fate...don't you think?

The third one my dear friend Alisha made with our wedding invitation cut into swirls on the inside. Isn't that just precious?  Thank you Alisha and Pinterest!

Last but not least, here are a few of my fave Christmas shots! It was a great Christmas weekend, spending time with family and friends. Hope you had a great one too!

Roasting hot-dogs and Marshmallows in the fireplace at Daddy's - hey, it's tradition.

Next year, complete vintage decor, etc. for the entire house.... It's on!

Happy New Year if I don't get checked back in before!
XOXOXO

Weekend on the Rox

Much needed weekend on the Rox:
Chapter 1- 'Cheat-as" never win'

Much to my dismay, I was unable to go to the NCSU / UNC game on Saturday. Tears flowed. Twice. I was so torn as to whether I should go or not. I gave my ticket to my daddy. I totally know that I made the right choice. He was so happy to go and he had a great time tailgating with some of our best friends! I couldn't have been a happier girl at the end of the day (in less of course I had been there too).

Overall a successful day:

#1 ) We (NCSU) did in fact and quite frankly open a can of whoop you-know-what on those tarholes!!!
13-0
{Insert "whoop whoop"}
Thank you to the Carolina "Cheat-as"
oh um....I mean Tarholes

#2 ) Since the hubs is a mostly converted UNC fan (until basketball season anyway) we can continue living in harmony at home. He would certainly fear for his life if said Tarholes had won on Saturday.  That's what happens to cheaters and those "joking around' on the field. The Herald Sun had it going on this morning. I just loved waking up to this...

The NCSU/UNC game is always a biggie for Sean and I. It was our first date 2 years ago and at the time Sean had not yet been converted. Ew....I know...a UNC fan? I was already sure it might not work out. Needless to say, prayers have been answered and he is now wearing red and looks amazingly hot in it.

If you need an update on tobacco road rivalries please tune in here.  My bloggy BFF gave a quick rendition of the latest on said rivalry.

Chapter 2 - Economy Boost!

Even though I missed the game on Saturday I got to promote my biz all day on Saturday. With much success might I add. Another one of the many ways God has blessed me with talent and ability!

I also want to catch you all up later this weekend on some other great local vendors that I think moms and ladies will love for some shoportunity. I met some great vendors on Saturday!!  You will have to wait until later this week to be introduced to my latest purchase.
I know you can't wait.

Chapter 3 - Auntie Loves!!!
One of the great things about living on the Rox is that I get to be a part of my nieces and nephews life way more than I did when I was in Raleigh.   I have 5 and 4 of them had a birthday weekend. Kelbie turned 7, Caleb turned 8, Kayla is turning 10 tomorrow. Praise the Lord! These three are so precious and I love to think on their birthdays about how each one is so special in their own unique way.  Kayla is so thoughtful and affectionate, Caleb is so manner-able and always a sweetheart when you see him, Kelbie the headstrong yet very sensitive little stone. They each have their own fire that is irreplaceable and unique. Sorry I didn't get any pics of their party. Here is an older pic of them all.

I did get some pics of another little man in particular - who had a VERY special birthday.

My Landon turned one today {tear} - It seems like just yesterday we were coming to visit you in the hospital.

This was such a special moment for me a year ago. Sean and I were not married yet, and some how I felt that day that I was already untied with his family. When Landon was born it was another stamp of affirmation in my heart that God had ordered my steps from where I had been to where I am going.  I remember a group of us praying over him and Katie and Thomas. Tears filled my eyes in the hospital room that night and I felt such happiness and closeness that I had always wanted for my marriage, and family. It brings tears to my eyes right now just thinking about they years to come and all the joy he has brought to us all this year so far. One thing that just completely fills my cup is that moment when GA held him for the first time. Me and Katie thought she was going to cry her self.

Now, she loves him so much and it has brought out a side of her I had never seen.  I know that they will have so much fun growing up together!! I can only imagine the shaninigans they will get into!!!
Poor Landon is all I gotta say!!
Just remember Landon, Auntie's can always get you out of trouble and they give you way more prizes!!!!!

Would you wear these?????

First lemme just say that very rarely do I talk about my business ventures via blog. But, I figure what the HECK. There is nothing wrong with a little consumer input right? Recently, my at-home business Specialty Design Co. has been picking up speed and people are planning for Christmas already!
(It is like 8 weeks away you know?)

Here are a couple things from my last Home Show which was SUPER fun and a success!!!

Jewelry and anything Monogrammed!!!!
 Metal Arts :)

So, in thinking about Christmas and all the fabulous products I have already, I can't help but think about adding to my product line.

Have you even been planning your tailgating outfit and worried that you might ruin your fave pair of cowboys or heels in the mud or scrape up the bottoms on the nasty pavement walking in???? I SO have. Need I remind you all that we park at the water tower and migrate FOREVA to get to the stadium.

So, what do you think about these?????

There are also tons of matching accessories for game day.

Can't you just see me Packin' away??????

I need input STAT!!! Like or HATES????

Next time, We'll be PACK'N

You best believe that next time I hit the trail to Raleigh, NC from the Rox for a tailgatin' good time, I'll be sporting a LARGE magnetic item on Sean Austin's Toyota such as this........

SERIOUSLY, me and Beef came up with this on our own..... because we is so smart you know???? THEN....some sweet little shug pie (who must be stalkin' our MEGA sweet ideas) had already come up with this fab little T-shirt number.

We must gets one of these ASAP!!!! We will probably be financially supporting some gangsta' fraternity and their weekly keg contribution fund. I ask you...WHO CARES??? when you can rock a mega-sweet T-shirt for such a low price. After all, it is much harder for college kids to bank a student loan these days. Let's give him props for his entrepreneurship. Go YOU,  Mr. Packin' T-shirt-fraternity-boy.

PS...That would be a great "Real Men of Genius" commercial on the radio from said fraternity's keg company. LOVE those commercials BTW. Crack a sister up in the car EVERY time!

In addition to our random photo ops with complete strangers, we also casually stalk target PACK celebs for a photo. {Insert annoyed husbands who have to take the photos, hold the camera properly, zoom in, and then stand there as we proof said photo}.

EXHIBIT A:

CJ Leslie....just any ol' Saturday at the pack game, chillin' in his "Nobody Likes You" {snicker} T-shirt. Is he mega-tall or what???? I needs to start carrying my Panoramic camera circa 2001 in ma clutch for such events of extra tallness. {insert more annoyed husbands in the future}This little run-in with CJ also got me super excited for basketball season. Must purchase tickets.
He seems to be used to getting crazy requests such as ours... Can we take a photograph shug????

And here are some more awesome photos from the Stizzle game on Saturday
(we pulled off a Win too y'all).

My baller' Stizzle Wreath ...such craftiness! I'm pretty sure that this was lucky and it may or may not have been the reason we won.
Unveiling of my new hair via blog
BFF's:
I wish skinny jeans really did make me look skinny.
I have also included bonus inside footage for those who do not partake of the tailgate. Yes, not only am I a faithful spectator but also a stalker.
Fun things NCSU students do to prepare for the best possible tailgate:
(So glad I had a baby in college to get me out of all this fun stuff.

NUMBER 1:
punching holes in your can / beer spray/ who can drink the fastest???? )

NUMBER TWO :
Frat Boys and Sorostitutes
I do think it's funny that they bring their living room furniture to the games for tailgating purposes

NUMBER THREE
:Homeade spaceship BBQ grills as seen here
- gots to be from the school of engineering

More PACK Photo Headlines:

Check out this Alums BEST use of a pumpkin EVER

Clearly these children will grow into their tailgating personalities with age.

I also LOVE old men who are still PACKIN'

Something about the band and all the drama of kick-off gets my blood rushing! It's my fave part!

Here is my ever-so-responsible husband conversing with the only responsible people present. The EMS.

So adorable...........

Nothin better than a man PACKIN in a cowboy hat and boots.

And always a pleasure to run into friends from the Rox.

Unfortunately, I missed Scotty McCreeery sing the national anthem cause I was reading up in the bathroom. I can't understand why all the bathroom stalls say...
"Please Do Not Flush Liquor Bottles in Toilet"

Who does that anyway?????

Is that a normal phrase in the bathroom at all college football stadiums or just NCSU???

Sorry for all the grammatical errors in this post. I am still in "Beef"-mode after spending such a lovely day with my homegirl, sister-in-blogging & life! For volume 2 of this post click her blog here.
